Since it’s founding, Pioneer Hospital has become an integral part of the Healthcare sector within its Branches in Arua, Koboko, Nebbi,Midgo, Greater part of West Nile, Neighbouring Countries DRC and South- Sudan offering care to communities from the region and beyond. Today patients find care that combines world class medicine and compassion.

Presently, Pioneer Hospital is a 50 bed-capacity referral unit offering a full range of specialized services, and with the Vision and Mision to provide Health Services in its Branches of Arua-City, Ediofe,Koboko and Nebbi above all to help the People of West-Nile and Beyond where we can reach.

Background of Pioneer Medical Services

Pioneer Medical Services (PMS) is private limited liability company established to offer medical services and training of health workers in Uganda. PMS has two sister companies as described below;

a) Pioneer Health Services that was established in 2011 to offer medical services in branch network model in the West Nile districts of Arua, Yumbe, Maracha Nebbi and Koboko. All the branches are coordinated by the main branch, Pioneer Medical Services in Arua municipality.

b) Koboko Institute of Sciences and Technology (KIST), a tertiary health and Business training institution located in Koboko district that offers diploma and certificate courses in pharmacy and certificate in medical laboratory technology. The institute has a teaching hospital for the students to practice their skills.

Cardiology

This involves the study of the heart and its action and diseases. Our cardiologists are highly skilled and experienced in managing Cardiac related illnesses.

Blood Tests

A variety of blood tests are available for analyzing cholesterol transport behavior, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, lipoprotein little a homocysteine, C-reactive protein, blood sugar control: fasting, after eating or averages using glycosylated albumen or hemoglobin, myoglobin, creatine kinase, troponin, brain-type natriuretic peptide, etc. to assess the evolution of coronary artery disease and evidence of existing damage.

Cardiac Stress Testing

Cardiac stress testing is used to determine to assess cardiac function and to disclose evidence of exertion-related cardiac hypoxia. Radionuclide testing using thallium or technetium can be used for perfusion abnormalities. With a maximal stress test, the level of exercise is increased until the patient heart rate will not increase any higher, despite increased exercise.
