Welcome To Pioneer Medical Services!

Brief history of PMS.
Pioneer Medical Services (PMS) started as a small medical centre in Arua municipality in November 2011 founded by Dr Aldo Pariyo, a specialist Physician. By that time, it was called Pioneer Medical Centre, licenced by Uganda Medical & Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC) to offer medical services at both Outpatient and five bed inpatient level. The mission of Pioneer Medical Centre by then was “to offer professional and holistic medical services to the people of West Nile sub region and beyond.” A year later, in January 2013 the medical centre had diversified its services pursuant to the mission to offer diagnostic services in the areas of biomedical tests and imaging at the level of general hospital. Consequently, it was licenced to operate as a mini hospital of 10 bed capacity and registered as a body corporate by Uganda Registration Bureau.
In 2014, the hospital embarked on the rural community access program by opening branches in rural towns of Yumbe district (Pioneer Medical Services-Yumbe, 2014), Maracha district (Pioneer Medical Centre- Oluvu, 2015) and Nebbi district (Pioneer Medical Centre-Nebbi, 2016). Since then the hospital has been running affiliate branches in a network model, all coordinated by the parent facility, Pioneer hospital.
In August 2015, the founders reviewed the vision and mission of the hospital to include the program of training students in paramedical courses. Koboko district was selected to build the training school and later a teaching hospital to facilitate students’ practicum. Accordingly, a more accommodative name, Pioneer Health Foundation was chosen to impress the two directorates of Medical Services (Pioneer Health Services) and Training & research (Koboko Institute of Health Sciences). The common vision and mission of PHF is therefore derived from those of the two directorates
